I can only hope.

I feel like all my love has gone to waste

I know there is so much more I have left to give

and yet, 

I can no longer give it to you

.

I feel like you are

holding on

grasping at the fraying ends

holding together

because you're too afraid of what might happen 

if

you let go.

if

I'm no longer there to catch you

 when you fall.

I can only hope

I need you to leave,

I can only hope.

One day, I will find someone worthy of all this love.

He will not need me.

He will not fall apart without me.

But he will want me. 

Utterly, romantically, endlessly.

And I will be able to give myself to him like I was never able to give myself to you.
